Howdy! My name is Keaton Soileau and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-Associate) at Houston OCD and Anxiety under the supervision of Saharah Shrout, MA, LPC-S  I completed my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Houston Baptist University and obtained my B.S. in Psychology from Texas A&M University.

I completed my practicum at Baylor College of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Department in their OCD clinic. At Baylor I was able to gain the necessary knowledge and framework for cultivating a greater understanding of OCD, refine my clinical assessment skills, and contribute to research to better understand OCD and comorbid disorders. In addition to working at Baylor as a clinical assessor, I provided therapeutic services for teens and adolescents ages 11-17 exhibiting symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and suicidality. I completed my first internship at OCD and Anxiety Treatment Houston (OATH Therapy). At OATH, I provided therapeutic services under supervision of Saharah Shrout LPC-S for young adults 18-26, exhibiting symptoms of OCD and other anxiety disorders. Lastly, I completed my second internship at Houston OCD and Anxiety under supervision of my current supervisor Dr. Alejandra Sequeira. At Houston OCD and Anxiety I provided treatment for adults exhibiting major depressive disorder and OCD. Combining my research and clinical experience, my hope is to provide competent and quality treatment for all my clients utilizing an empirical based approach to cultivate a better understanding of the clients self and improve their overall quality of life.

Therapists and the various styles we use to treat disorders are like trying on a pair of running shoes, before you take off running, you should try them on and walk around first to see what style best fits you so you can get the absolute most out of treatment! The population that I am most interested in is adolescents (13+) and young adults (18-26) exhibiting OCD (all subtypes including existential), anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety disorder, specific phobia, social anxiety, separation anxiety, panic disorder, and agoraphobia), depression, and cultivating meaning and purpose. The approach I use for clients is the gold standard treatment for OCD and anxiety disorders, known as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP). CBT/ERP is an empirically supported approach that is effective in treating OCD, anxiety disorders, and various presenting problems. Moreover, I provide parent training specifically for children who exhibit OCD and various anxiety disorders to facilitate navigation of symptoms, properly increase support, identify accommodations, and decrease accommodations. Lastly, I provide intensive outpatient treatment for those who are seeking a higher level of care. I believe that each individual brings in their own unique experiences and background to counseling, in addition I believe that you are much more than your symptoms, even though it may not seem this way right now. As we collaboratively work towards obtaining your goals, I will meet you with genuine care, to challenge you when fear and avoidance manifest to keep you from the best quality of life.
